The Maltije Natural Recreation Forest is the site reservoir and thick forest are well-matched.
Since the Jangje Reservoir is near, you can enjoy excellent coolness in the summer. Seen from the Jangje Reservoir, the scenery of the recreation forest is like a landscape painting. The Maltije Natural Recreation Forest opened in 2002. Most of the accommodation facilities which can cover 300 people at the maximum lie along the valley stream flowing into the reservoir.
11 huts made of logs are one story houses. The size of each hut is 7 pyeong, and each one has individual electric heating system. In addition to the Management Office, there are also 10 huts for 4 persons, 3 huts for 7 persons, 1 hut for 11 persons, 1 hut for 14 persons, 220v wall outlets are provided in the Forest Recreation Hall and all huts. All huts are equipped with TV and refrigerator. Auto Camping Ground is scheduled to be constructed.
There is no fitness center or playground for team players. Since there is no store in the forest, you should prepare everything you need including food and side dishes before coming to the forest. The Malti Hugeso (Resting Place) at the entrance of Maltije pass is the nearest store. If you approach the forest from Songnisan, you can buy something at the Songnisan Collective Facilities Area.
